Goodies

I'm pretty excited for Christmas to be here so I can open all my presents. It's killing me. I need to know and I can hardly bear to keep Emmett's gifts a secret. I like to just tell people. I'm especially excited about a larger box under the tree for me! I can only guess what it is and I hope it comes with attachments! Oh, and goes in the kitchen so no one interprets that last statement dirty.

We started painting the house and so far the colors have turned out great. I'm a slacker and haven't taken any pictures, but I will get to it. The last week I have been distracted with making some Christmas cookies and candy. Yum!

It Arrived!

This was the view out the door this morning and I love it! Therefore I am soaking it all up because who knows when it will snow again. Oh...snow is my favorite!

IT'S ARRIVED! My Anthropologie tree skirt came yesterday!!!!! It is so beautiful and I can't believe that I fell in love with something that you show off for a month, but once I saw it, I couldn't find any other tree skirt that compared. It was my Christmas splurge. This Christmas is extra exciting, mainly due to it being E and I's first married Christmas so I got it. It will last a long time. Time to start our own traditions.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Mine will be spent at work and so will Emmett's. We are also lucky enough to be on opposite schedules, too. So Thanksgiving dinner will be provided by the hospital's cafeteria for the both of us. I'm just a little sad to spend our first Thanksgiving this way, but I'm sure I can get over it.

Anthropologie

I have a new favorite store: Anthropologie. I can't afford half of their stuff, but I love their style! They have some great holiday stuff this year and I couldn't go without getting one of the tree skirts. (Unable to get picture.)

I scored these great latte bowls! They come in tons of colors. More than the picture below. I have heard nothing but good things about these and they are the perfect size for just about anything!! Oh, and they are affordable too! I can't wait to get a few more to complete what I already have! I have my eye on some plaid plates that are just awesome, but those will have to wait a bit.

Snow and Harry Potter

I have to say, for the record, that I love Love LOVE! snow! I am so glad it finally has snowed, but a little disappointed at the lack of sticking. I will take what I can, though!

Emmett and I went on a date yesterday. We went and saw the new Harry Potter and then sushi at Happy Fish after. I don't like Harry Potter. I liked the first couple, then it took a turn to mass killing and scary that I don't care for. Harry Potter is not for kids. I didn't realize this until after I bought the tickets in advance and then proceeded to catch myself up on the movies. Emmett has read the books and enjoys them so I thought it would be fun to go to the theater for the new one.

Since we were in BODO, we hit up Happy Fish after. The two sushi rolls we picked this time were oh so yummy! Happy Fish does sushi so good. I just love it. It was a good end to the night!

A visit

We had a visitor this weekend...a fun one. Jesse, Emmett's cousin, came Wednesday and stayed a couple nights with us. It was nice to have a visitor in the house. We toured downtown, tried out the Community Flatbread Kitchen....very delish. We watched a couple movies and just hung out and chit chatted. Jesse is super funny, a cutie, down to earth, and a great musician. Oh, the visit also included this:

Yes, they climbed on the garden shelves...more who could do it. Something Emmett has been trying for awhile. And this:

Some very good guitar playing. He's off to visit the rest of the fam in Montana, Washington, and Oregon. We wish you great travels and can't wait 'till we meet again.
P.S. I did try to talk him into moving here from Cedarville...I don't think I sold it well. He's also single...just saying.

Fall

I LOVE fall and so it makes me happy to see it finally arrive! We went on a little drive yesterday down the backside of Bogus on a narrow dirt road that leads over to Horseshoe Bend. It would have lead right back into Boise if someone hadn't made the road their private property and Emmett had the guts to drive it anyway. He's a rule follower...something along the lines of being a cop and not being a hypocrite to the law outside of work. Anyway, it was beautiful and relaxing! One of our favorite things to do!

We pulled out our garden last week. The tomatoes took over everything and the zucchini prospered well. Emmett left a few on the plant to see how big they would get and here is the result:

I decided it was time to decorate the front door somewhat fall-ish items. I'm not the most creative minded person that I wish I was. The non-creative mind (and lack of money) kept me from decorating last year. I have pretty visions of the holiday decor this year in my head, but we will see how they end up outside of my head. Here is the Halloween/Fall look so far:

Back to work tomorrow.

An Overview...

Back at it again...or attempting to anyway. Emmett and I got married. It was a beautiful ceremony...well I think, anyway. We had weird weather that included wind and 60 degree temps in August, but as everyone said to me , "at least it didn't rain." It didn't. Thank God!

Just a couple pictures, I know, but I don't think I need to post all up here. Emmett was good looking and I cleaned up ok. Our photographer did such a great job! For the record, I didn't post any of her pictures. The next day we left to Vancouver, BC...FANTASTIC!!! Such a beautiful place and we had a BLAST all week! Oh, and I chopped those long wedding locks off there. I couldn't take it anymore!

Spring Is On It's Way!

I realize this may come too soon for the simple fact that I live in Idaho, but spring is sooo in the air! I'm so excited for some better weather! I'm sure there will be one or two cold spells and maybe an off the wall snow since this is Idaho, but I feel like I can deal with that!

As an update...
We have got most of the stuff set up for the wedding. There are a few small things left to do like hair, food, bridesmaid dress since she just became unpreggo, and set up details. We have engagement photos at the end of the month which I'm actually kind of excited about. I'm not sure what we are going to wear cuz I have a hard time with that stuff, but I suppose I will get that fingured out.

The Happenings...

Emmett and I went to McCall this past Saturday to check out the ice sculptures. There weren't as many as the previous years or we missed some. We tried the new brewery, I think it was called Salmon Brewery something or other, and it was actually pretty good. They have a sushi bar also that was wonderful! It was just a day trip, but it was nice to get out and go somewhere.

I took my new boke out for a spin on Sunday which was pretty nice. Winter is starting to get to me so it was good to get out and do something that involves moving. It has been awhile since I've been on a bike and I didn't do too bad, but I got a little winded a little early so I will have to work on that...maybe from the lack of any movement this winter. haha

My Corolla, now named Penelope, decided it didn't want to run Sunday night after driving around all day. Mind boggling, I know. It would start up and then just die. Emmett has a handy dandy little check engine light diagnoser which said it was the emissions computer chip malfunctioning. Really?! It's a 2008 and it's malfunctioning? Well it got towed to the dealer on Monday and I'm still under warrantee so it will be a free fix. The dealer has pissed me off like usual and I will not get my car back until maybe Wednesday. Oh and despite Emmett and I having only one car now and on different schedules, they have no loner car for us cuz supposedly they are all being used. Thanks jerks! Guess we'll pick up the car at midnight and I will wake up Emmett to do it. If we don't, then we aren't availble until Saturday to pick it up. Angry... I will leave you with that.

Dear Winter:

Dear Winter,

Unless you are going to dump a ton of snow, then you need to go away. I am now constantly cold and tired of the short days. I hate that you claim its winter, yet you rain a lot and snow very little....which in winter there should be lots of snow. I have a lot of plans for the warmer weather so it's time for you to leave. Thank you.

Sunday and Monday's big events

It dawned on us Saturday (well for awhile now) that there is no way we are going to be able to go camping and mountain boke riding or anything that invloves a crappy road with two cars. I'm sure we could attempt it and maybe get away with no damage but that is tempting fate, I think. The both of us have always liked 4Runners so we randomly thought we would go take a look at what was out there to buy. I also have a pretty crappy mountain bike so we decided to use some tax refund on getting me a new one....a lot of buying thoughts were going on. Come to find out there is very little used 4Runners out there. We just happened to walk into the Toyota dealership when another couple were trading in their 2006 4Runner sport with 28,000 miles on it...what a coincidence. So we went back on Sunday to look at it. Emmett amazingly decided he would give up his Audi he just bought 2 months ago to see if we could get the 4Runner. This is a big deal due to him just buying it AND it being a fun little sports car that he's wanted. He said he wanted the 4Runner more so that we could go do a ton more stuff. Anyway, the dealership covered all the cost of taking over Emmett's loan!!! So we are new owners of a hot 4Runner with all the fixings! So Monday we went mountain bike shopping which had its ups and downs. I finally found the perfect one AND in my size so we are set for some camping and mountain biking! I'm so excited! I have to give a huge thanks to Emmett for giving up his Audi! I feel bad about taking it away from him despite him swearing he wants the 4Runner more. So Thank You!

Idaho City

This past Saturday, we decided to take a drive up to Idaho City for the sake of getting out of Boise for a bit and see some scenery. It was an awesome drive and so pretty this time of year with all the snow on the ground. Emmett has a favorite camping spot up there, but there was no way the Audi was going to make it up the road so maybe another time. The drive was nice enough. Of course I had one of those moments of: I should have brought my camera, but oh well. We also went up the Lucky Peak turn off. I was curious on how low the lake was and of course it was really low so now I know. haha

Travels!

I booked our flight to Flagstaff, AZ and I'm so excited to go! All of my immediate family on my mom's side lives there and they are all so much fun. My cousins and I have a blast and Flagstaff is such a great place. It will be a chance for me to catch up with everyone and for them to meet Emmett since the wedding will be so busy. We are going in May so spring will be in full force. I think what I am most excited about is a trip with Emmett and getting to travel somewhere. I love going places and it makes even more exciting to share it with him!

We also have decided where we are going on our honeymoon which I may have already said in a prior blog. We decided on Vancouver, British Columbia. We wanted to go to San Francisco, but the place is booked during that time so we will another time. Vancouver is supposed to be the SF of Canada. It will be a blast for a week! We went in and applied for our passports so that's done plus I'm planning more out of country trips for the future. Europe here we come...someday! haha

Emmett's family is from Cedarville, CA so we will be heading that way some weekend and hopefully taking some smaller excursions on our weekends for fun. Pretty sure it's going to be a good year!

An Addendum

I will add:

Emmett doesn't really fit a cop mentality so I don't see crazy mental cop image that I pictured. He is very nice and would do anything for anyone. He's very loving in case anyone was concerned from the prior post. I wouldn't subject myself to crazy willingly. :)

His stuff...

Emmett has moved in....

My stuff officially doesn't like his stuff...

Where am I supposed to put it all? It will work out or I will get rid of it all.

Not really, though. He doesn't have that much, but it seems like it. I did inherit a 46in flat screen TV and if any of you know what I had before (a little 14in TV) you will understand my excitement!

August 28, 2010

This is the official date of the wedding. I wanted a spring wedding but that would be too soon to do a wedding and I didn't want to wait a year and a half. Nor did I want to share an anniversary with my birthday month. 28 is my lucky number. I was born 9/28. I've used 28 for everything. Emmett proposed to me 11/28 without him even realizing it. We had another special moment 12/28 without realizing the date either. So why not have a wedding cermony on the 28th also.

It's going to be at Sawtooth Winery and the dress has been picked, the DJ booked, cake tasting for fun next week, and meet with a photographer on the 23rd. It's slowly coming together and I rather shoot myself. I don't do girl an I never imagined how many small details there are, but I'm pushing through! I just was a simple, elegant wedding and I hope I can keep it that way! Emmett and I have taken on the expense which has added some stress... mainly for me. I will attempt to keep you up to date through here as time goes on.

We chose Vancouver for the honeymoon so much get started on those passports! I am really excited! He's super wonderful! Also, I realize I need some pictures on here, but well I'm at work so that will have to wait!

Engagement

So, Emmett and I went and checked out wedding rings the week before Thanksgiving. When asked what kind of rings do I like, I responded with well I have no idea. I showed him what I liked, but refused to be a part of the whole buying process. That was for him to take care of. I was pretty sure one was bought, but I had no idea what his plan was and there was no way he was going to be able to pick it up before going to the Oregon coast for Thanksgiving so I gave up on the thought of being proposed to on the beach.

We arrived at Cannon Beach Thanksgiving day and went all over the beach and town. We took a drive down to Tillamook Friday and wandered the streets of Seaside. I had a blast with him without suspecting a thing. Saturday rolled along and my aunt, uncle (who graciously invited us to the condo on the beach), and mom decided it would be fun to do some pictures of us at Hug Point down the road. So off we went to go do that. It was gorgeous that day and we did our pictures and wandered the beach some more. The rest of the family went their own way and Emmett and I climbed up into a cove to get out of the wind for a bit. I didn't suspect a thing until 2minutes before when he got really nervous. I kept looking at him like what the hell is wrong with you? Finally he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes and the ring was beautiful! I really appreciated him not asking me in front of the crowd where we did pictures and waiting for a moment when my family wasn't around. It was just the two of us and it was great! Come to find out, he ran straight from work to pick up the ring the night before we left and carried in his jacket pocket the whole weekend without me even suspecting it! I didn't notice him making me walk on his right side only and him guarding his jacket pocket.

Now I did ask him why he got so nervous if he knew the answer already. It was due to him wanting to be sure it was the perfect time and a little romantic. It was cute. He wanted to do it on a night walk but wasn't sure how the weather was going to be and then it dawned on him that I wouldn't be able to see the ring at night which finalized his descision. He did a great job and it will be a great memory!

2009 Part II

I decided to dedicate a seperate post to meeting Emmett so I have a memory of it...

I was approached by Suzie, a nurse from the ER, about a new police officer with Caldwell that her husband and her wanted to set me up with. This was July, mind you. I told her that there was no way I was going to go on a date with a cop due to them having mental complexes that I didn't want to put up with. She insisted that I meet him because he was just so nice and respectful. And since he was kinda shy also she thought we would be a good match. So I gave in cuz I was tired of trying to find one myself. Well come to find out I wasn't allowed to meet him until after he was done with his 12 week training!! Ok, fine...I will wait.

Next, I got a text message in October from her letting me know he was done and that he would like to meet me. I had totally forgotten that I was supposed to meet this guy and had made plans with someone else...oh well I cancelled them. I made him meet me at the hospital the nextt night since we were both working and I didn't want to do a blind date because if I didn't like him I didn't want to sit through the whole date. I was afraid it was going to be a short not so good looking cop. Well as I walked out to meet him, checked him out, he was pretty dang cute AND he was in uniform. Conversation came really easy and we felt really comfortable with each other from the start. We set up a date for the weekend. After meeting him for the first time I thought two things: 1. I could marry this guy. 2. I'm kinda sad to say good bye. I have never thought these thoughts about a guy ever...EVER! We saw each other every day since. We were meant to be. I never thought the statement "when you know, you know" or "we were meant to be together" were true until now!
