The Happenings...

Emmett and I went to McCall this past Saturday to check out the ice sculptures. There weren't as many as the previous years or we missed some. We tried the new brewery, I think it was called Salmon Brewery something or other, and it was actually pretty good. They have a sushi bar also that was wonderful! It was just a day trip, but it was nice to get out and go somewhere.

I took my new boke out for a spin on Sunday which was pretty nice. Winter is starting to get to me so it was good to get out and do something that involves moving. It has been awhile since I've been on a bike and I didn't do too bad, but I got a little winded a little early so I will have to work on that...maybe from the lack of any movement this winter. haha

My Corolla, now named Penelope, decided it didn't want to run Sunday night after driving around all day. Mind boggling, I know. It would start up and then just die. Emmett has a handy dandy little check engine light diagnoser which said it was the emissions computer chip malfunctioning. Really?! It's a 2008 and it's malfunctioning? Well it got towed to the dealer on Monday and I'm still under warrantee so it will be a free fix. The dealer has pissed me off like usual and I will not get my car back until maybe Wednesday. Oh and despite Emmett and I having only one car now and on different schedules, they have no loner car for us cuz supposedly they are all being used. Thanks jerks! Guess we'll pick up the car at midnight and I will wake up Emmett to do it. If we don't, then we aren't availble until Saturday to pick it up. Angry... I will leave you with that.

Dear Winter:

Dear Winter,

Unless you are going to dump a ton of snow, then you need to go away. I am now constantly cold and tired of the short days. I hate that you claim its winter, yet you rain a lot and snow very little....which in winter there should be lots of snow. I have a lot of plans for the warmer weather so it's time for you to leave. Thank you.

Anna

Sunday and Monday's big events

It dawned on us Saturday (well for awhile now) that there is no way we are going to be able to go camping and mountain boke riding or anything that invloves a crappy road with two cars. I'm sure we could attempt it and maybe get away with no damage but that is tempting fate, I think. The both of us have always liked 4Runners so we randomly thought we would go take a look at what was out there to buy. I also have a pretty crappy mountain bike so we decided to use some tax refund on getting me a new one....a lot of buying thoughts were going on. Come to find out there is very little used 4Runners out there. We just happened to walk into the Toyota dealership when another couple were trading in their 2006 4Runner sport with 28,000 miles on it...what a coincidence. So we went back on Sunday to look at it. Emmett amazingly decided he would give up his Audi he just bought 2 months ago to see if we could get the 4Runner. This is a big deal due to him just buying it AND it being a fun little sports car that he's wanted. He said he wanted the 4Runner more so that we could go do a ton more stuff. Anyway, the dealership covered all the cost of taking over Emmett's loan!!! So we are new owners of a hot 4Runner with all the fixings! So Monday we went mountain bike shopping which had its ups and downs. I finally found the perfect one AND in my size so we are set for some camping and mountain biking! I'm so excited! I have to give a huge thanks to Emmett for giving up his Audi! I feel bad about taking it away from him despite him swearing he wants the 4Runner more. So Thank You!

Idaho City

This past Saturday, we decided to take a drive up to Idaho City for the sake of getting out of Boise for a bit and see some scenery. It was an awesome drive and so pretty this time of year with all the snow on the ground. Emmett has a favorite camping spot up there, but there was no way the Audi was going to make it up the road so maybe another time. The drive was nice enough. Of course I had one of those moments of: I should have brought my camera, but oh well. We also went up the Lucky Peak turn off. I was curious on how low the lake was and of course it was really low so now I know. haha
